GAME RULES
General Rules
You will be given 10 multiple-choice questions. For every question you have 10 seconds to answer. For each correct answer, you are given points. The quicker you give the correct answer, the more points you earn.
The questions are classified into 3 levels of difficulty: easy, average and difficult. When you answer an easy question correctly, you earn 1000 points. For every correctly answered average question, you earn 1500 points, and every correct answer to a difficult question earns you 2000 points.
Apart from that, you will also be given points for answering a question quickly (only if you answer the question correctly). The score is worked out using the following formula: 1000 x (Time remained/Total time). For instance, if you have 5 seconds left and you gave the correct answer, then you will receive 500 bonus points (1000 x (5/10)).
After answering 5 or 10 questions, you know your score. When playing a Challenge Tournament, you know immediately if you are the winner. If you are playing a Basic Tournament or a Progressive Jackpot Tournament, you will have to be patient and wait for the Tournament to close before finding out if you have won.
Stake money
How much money you stake is entirely up to you. As soon as you have selected and clicked a game, for instance the Top Trivia Quiz, you can specify how much you wish to stake. Next, you will see an overview of all the other players that also wish to play for that same amount. If you invite people to an Invitation Tournament, you are the one who decides how high the stakes are for the people that you invite.
For every game, the minimum stake is £0.43. The maximum stakes at Challenge Tournaments, Basic Tournaments and Progressive Jackpot Tournaments are £2.61 per person.
Fair play
Because Practice Players only have virtual Practice Money and therefore do not play for real money, they can't play against Star Players who do stake real money.
In addition, in order to make sure that everyone has a fair chance, QuizWinners uses a ranking system. The more questions you answer correctly, the more you win and the higher your ranking becomes. Only those players that are on the same ranking level as you can compete with you.
Every player builds up a separate ranking for every individual game. There are 5 different ranking levels: Beginner (during the first 5 games), Novice (up to 1300 points), Advanced (1301-2000 points), Master (2001-2200 points) and Pro (over 2200 points). During the first 5 games within a certain quiz, you have no ranking at all but are automatically classed as a Beginner. After that, your ranking is determined dependent on your success.
NB: all games on QuizWinners are individual games; all accounts belong to one specific person. Two heads are often better than one, and playing with more than one person at the computer may lead to an unfair result of the game and put other players who are playing the game fairly at a disadvantage. For this reason, games should never be played by several people sharing the same computer and the same account. Anyone found to be cheating like this is excluded from taking part in any games on QuizWinners.
